The human eye can distinguish over 500 shades of grey, so it’s no wonder we love them so much!
Kelsey, better known as the influential lifestyle and interiors enthusiast Littlebitofdovegrey, lives in the Scotland with her Newfie dog Jax.
Over the past two years she has lovingly transformed her stunning home with shades of grey mixed with a soft neutral palette, including our Impact Putty fabric!
We asked Kelsey six quick fire questions to find out a littlebit more about her;
Where did your passion for interior design begin?
My passion for interior design only truly started when I bought my first home- the one I share on Instagram. I have always loved architecture and interiors but it wasn’t something I was able to be truly passionate about until it was time for me to find out what my own style was.
Why did you choose to use natural colours for your home?
I chose a neutral colour palette as I know it is what I am most drawn too when I look at my wardrobe. I love that it provides a calming atmosphere when I want to unwind and it is something that will last the test of time. It hadn’t hit me until very recently that a quick way to work out what your style is is to look at your own wardrobe. My wardrobe is largely made up of a neutral palette with little injections of colour. Carefully curated for not only quality but something that will last! I am not really fashionable in the slightest, but I’d hope that I am styled and I hope my house is the same. I am not one for quick trends in my wardrobe and I treat the house the same.
Where do you look for inspiration for your home?
I love to use Instagram and Pinterest to get ideas for my home. I find screenshotting your favourite designs or colour palettes is a great way to build up what styles you are repeatedly drawn too. Another great way is to visit showrooms and local interior shops.
Who is your favourite Interior Designer?
My favourite interior designer has to be Sophie Patterson. I love the colour palettes she uses. She seems to perfectly pair up beautiful fabrics, furniture and materials to create luxurious but functional homes. She is a big inspiration to a lot of us as she is self-taught!
Which are your favourite ILIV fabrics?
I absolutely love the fabric Impact Putty- I love the geometry and the colour ways you can get it in. It looks beautiful in a living room and or bedroom. I also think it would look fantastic combined with Pitch Putty as either an alternate cushion beside impact putty or used for curtains to tie the room together. I also love Stratus Ink. Navy blue has been a large trend this year and it is great to bring navy in as an accent colour to compliment your neutral/grey home. It can also be paired really well with soft pinks. Stratus Driftwood is another luxurious fabric that I think would work great as a cushion or curtain mixed with brass metals and dark wedge wood.
Where do you see yourself in five years from now?
Five years from now I hope to have renovated my first home completely and hopefully extended it further. I would love to make the kitchen larger and add some more bedrooms to the property. I would also love to be able to explore my love of interiors further.
