Having designed and manufactured hundreds of inspiring fabric collections world-wide for over 30 years, we thought it would be really interesting to reveal our top 50 selling fabrics of all time.

Brit’s can’t get enough of beige

Our list has provided some unusual results, showing us Brit’s are rather habitual and favour textured beige, ivory and cream textiles. Over 90 per cent of the top ten fabrics fall in the beige colour way. The top selling fabric of all time is our ‘Passion Arctic’ - an ivory chenille material.

Elsewhere in the world

In complete contrast to the UK’s love of light plains, the list has unearthed that our most popular fabrics elsewhere in the world feature warm reds, English heritage patterns and intricate embroidery inspired by decadent times and nature. In Europe, the ‘Everglade Cherry’ fabric ranked number one, with ‘Tiffany Jewel’ and ‘Lalique Ruby’ following close behind.

Recent favourites

Surprisingly, while much of recent interior trends have pointed towards greys, blush pinks and the colour of the year ‘Living coral’ as insta-worthy for the home, it’s the bold patterns and prints that have been most popular in the last 12 months.

Why do we mix plains and patterns?

Much like our wardrobes consist of a mix of classic styles and bold patterns, we apply fashion to our homes in a similar way.

Our fabric collections have been designed to compliment and co-ordinate so while sales are inherently high for plains and textures, our luxury statement pattern designs are selected for upholstering furniture, adorning sofas with stunning cushions or dressing windows with unique designs.

The list shows that while it’s fun to be on-trend, timeless hues are always going to reign supreme. However, to get an interior look just right, the plain needs to be teamed with pattern or colour accents that add visual interest.
